Description

UX Design Fundamentals is a skill set that focuses on creating user-friendly and intuitive digital interfaces. It involves understanding basic design principles, conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and testing usability to ensure the end product meets user needs. As proficiency increases, UX designers can handle complex, multi-platform designs, conduct advanced usability tests, and manage large-scale projects. They use tools like Sketch or Adobe XD and apply knowledge of cognitive psychology and human-computer interaction. At an expert level, they can innovate new design solutions and mentor others. The goal is always to enhance user satisfaction by improving the usability, accessibility, and pleasure provided in the interaction with a product.

Expected Behaviors

  • Fundamental Awareness

At the fundamental awareness level, individuals have a basic understanding of UX design principles and terminology. They are aware of the importance of user-centered design and have a rudimentary knowledge of color theory and typography. However, they may not yet be able to apply these concepts in a practical setting.

  • Novice

Novices can conduct basic user research and create simple wireframes. They understand how to apply basic usability testing methods and have a grasp of information architecture. Novices are also capable of using basic design tools like Sketch or Adobe XD.

  • Intermediate

Intermediate-level practitioners can create interactive prototypes and conduct user interviews. They understand advanced design principles and can apply heuristic evaluations. They are proficient in using advanced features of design tools and can analyze the results of their designs.

  • Advanced

Advanced practitioners can create complex, multi-platform UX designs and conduct A/B tests. They understand cognitive psychology and can apply advanced usability testing methods. Advanced practitioners can manage and lead UX projects and have a deep understanding of the implications of their design decisions.

  • Expert

Experts have mastered UX design tools and techniques and can innovate new design solutions. They can manage large-scale UX projects and mentor others in UX design. Experts have a deep understanding of human-computer interaction and can apply this knowledge to create intuitive and effective designs.
