Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum events including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum (stand-ups), Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement sessions to ensure they are productive, time-boxed, and focused.
- Identify, track, and actively remove impediments or blockers that hinder team progress, escalating systemic issues as needed and coordinating cross-team dependencies.
- Coach the team, Product Owner, and organization on Scrum principles, Agile values, and best practices to promote self-organization, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support the Product Owner in backlog management, prioritization discussions, and refinement to maintain a clear, prioritized Product Backlog.
- Track and interpret Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown charts, cycle time, lead time, sprint predictability, and team throughput to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Foster transparency through effective communication of progress, risks, and impediments to stakeholders while managing expectations and ensuring alignment.
- Lead retrospectives to extract actionable insights, implement process enhancements, and build psychological safety for open feedback.
- Promote a high-performing team culture emphasizing respect, courage, openness, commitment, and focus while resolving conflicts constructively.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile/Scrum environments, ideally supporting software development or enterprise IT teams (2+ years for standard level; more for senior roles handling complex programs).
- Demonstrated success facilitating Scrum events and improving team performance metrics in previous roles.
- Hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams, including collaboration with Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders under Agile delivery models.
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale Agile implementations or transitions (beneficial but not mandatory).
- Certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) is highly desirable and often expected.
- Experience with AI tools, LLMs, and AI code generation.
