You can use a role as it is, or customize it with the details and skills that make it a perfect fit for your organization.
BEFORE YOU START
- You need permission to author content (Author content or Promote content). Only Promote content lets you publish without approval.
Edit the role
- 1Open the Capability Map and select Roles.
- 2Click the pencil icon (Edit) on the role's card.
- 3Update the text, such as the Summary, Responsibilities, and Qualifications and Requirements.
- 4In the Skills table, add or remove skills. For each skill, set its Importance, Proficiency, Assessment Interval, and Assessment Type.
- 5Click Save. Your changes are saved as a draft, and you'll see Role information saved but not published.
Publish your changes
Your team keeps seeing the previously published version of the role until you publish.
- 1Click the publish icon on the role's card (There are unpublished changes. Click to publish.).
- 2If you have Promote content, click OK to confirm. You'll see Role successfully published.
- 3If you don't, add a note in Additional comments and click OK to send a publish request. You can follow it in your notifications.
Good to know
- A ! on the publish icon means there are unpublished changes. A P means a publish request is waiting for approval, and the role can't be edited until it's resolved.
- On the role's page, you can switch between Published, Draft, and Difference to compare versions.
- To throw away unpublished changes, open More actions (the three dots) on the card and choose Discard changes.
- If you have AI access, the AI Assistant panel offers Auto-fill with AI and Review with AI.
TIPS
- Each skill can appear only once in a role. You'll see Skill already included if you add it twice.
- Save stays disabled until you've made a change and filled in every required field.
